IT Operations Support Engineer

Position Summary:
Support Engineer is responsible for the monitoring, maintenance, and repair of all company IT systems. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to, servicing the daily needs of the local and regional offices; maintaining the operability and stability of servers used to host applications and services in development and production environments; planning and implementing new systems and services as needed. The position requires very strong technical professionals specializing in web hosting server administration. Develop and maintain appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current. This person will oversee the maintenance of system supporting processes and documentation of incident management structure. Analyzing requirements to plan the architecture for computing infrastructure equipment, or recommends modifications to existing infrastructure and systems in order to provide the capability for projected workloads, efficient operation, and effective use of resources.

Responsibilities

Supports desktop and portable users for local and remote employees
Implementing and administering Microsoft Windows-based environments
Administer VMware 3.x Environment
Manage HP Sitescope monitoring software
Manage Gomez Web Performance Monitoring System
Schedule and monitor nightly and month end network backups
Configuring and documenting configuration of servers under Microsoft platform
Configuring server drivers, RAID drives and/or RAID Storage or SANs
Administering Windows 2003 Active Directory environment

Required Skills:

4 - 6 years of experience working with Windows 2000, 2003 and Windows XP in the server environment.
4 - 6 years of experience using Windows programs such as MS Office, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and other desktop tools.
3 - 5 years in a LAN or WAN environment familiar with TCP/IP, Ethernet
Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) 2000/2003 or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) 2000/2003 or equivalent training or certification desired
Degree preferred
VMware experience a plus
Experience with administering servers in collocation or hosting environment is a plus

Software Architect

Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for leading the technology roadmap and strategy of the Bridgevine platform to support company’s vision. The individual must have hands-on experience with Microsoft .NET technologies and tools. The position will report to the Vice President, Software Development..

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the business owners to understand business requirements.
  • Provide prototypes / proof-of-concepts to the business owners and users as a part of the requirements process.
  • Work closely with Director of Development to plan ongoing product enhancement and maintenance;
  • Responsible for technology roadmap and strategy
  • Investigate new technologies and research ongoing industry developments
  • Perform architecture, product enhancement and maintenance development tasks.
  • Design, develop and unit test solutions based on Microsoft .NET 2.0+ technologies and tools such as MS Visual Studio 2005/2008, C#, ASP.NET, Win Forms, Microsoft AJAX and MS SQL Server 2005.
  • Follow development methodology, policies, procedures and standards.
  • Mentor developers, perform code reviews and possibly manage project commitments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in CIS
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience developing applications with Microsoft development tools and technologies
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience architecting high volume eCommerce or web services (SOA) applications
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience developing multi layered/tiered  web applications for multiple browsers
  • 5+ years experience with HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience developing applications using C#, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, XML, OOP and Web Services
  • 6+ years hands-on experience with MS SQL Server platform including T-SQL, stored procedures, Views, Triggers, and DTS/SSIS packages
  • 8+ years experience in source control, unit testing, code verification, documentation, automated builds continuous integration, metrics, and code reviews.
  • Experience in Agile Development Methodology
  • Ability to function well in a team environment
  • Must possess knowledge and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, Object Oriented Design, and Database Design
  • Must have knowledge of MS SQL Sever best practices
  • Keeps up to date with Microsoft technologies
  • Working knowledge of MS Windows server environments
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project etc.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong technical documentation skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Must be proactive, self-directed, detailed, and organized
  • Must be a team player, self motivated, self starter and a quick learner
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience developing e-Commerce and Web 2.0 solutions
  • MCSE/ MCSD certification
